VINTAGE KONYA KILIM Central Asia This jijim kilim from Manisa’sThis Konya kilim was woven in Karaman region in the original style to bestow power on the family and protect them. It has been restored in some minor places, like fringes, by a Turkish kilim restoration master in Istanbul. These kilim & carpets were mostly woven for specific reasons, such as dowry, gift, commission based by someone, or for the decoration of ones home. That is why they are not regular sizes like todays rugs in perfect sizes or colors.
